The head of the ordinary judiciary, acting principally as a court of cassation: it reviews whether the law was correctly applied rather than retrying facts. Since the 2010 Constitution it shares constitutional space with the Tribunal Constitucional, and judicial discipline and administration have passed to the Consejo del Poder Judicial.
