Article 162 of the Constitution makes the Central Court accountable to the Supreme People's Assembly, and there is no separation of the judiciary from the party-state structure. Independent verification of procedure, case outcomes or the availability of any remedy is not possible, and United Nations Commission of Inquiry findings describe a system in which political cases fall outside judicial process altogether.
