Supreme Court of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea

조선민주주의인민공화국 중앙재판소 / Central Court

Indexed· 2026-08-03Pyongyang

This entry records what the DPRK's published constitutional and statutory texts provide, which is all that open sources allow. Article 162 of the Constitution makes the Central Court accountable to the Supreme People's Assembly, and there is no separation of the judiciary from the party-state structure. Independent verification of procedure, case outcomes or the availability of any remedy is not possible, and United Nations Commission of Inquiry findings describe a system in which political cases fall outside judicial process altogether. Nothing here should be read as a description of an accessible or reviewable court.
