Vietnam has no constitutional court: the National Assembly exercises constitutional supervision, and no court may set aside a statute. Since 2015 the Supreme People's Court has published selected án lệ (case precedents) that lower courts must apply, which is a notable development in a system that formally rejects judicial precedent. Superior People's Courts sit between it and the provincial courts.
