Administers all land, which is constitutionally inalienable.
What this authority does
Clause 104 of the 1875 Constitution vests all land in the Crown and forbids its sale, so this ministry administers hereditary estates, tax allotments and town allotments and registers leases — the only way to obtain an interest in Tongan land. Estate boundaries and title questions go to the Land Court, and hereditary title disputes to the domestic Privy Council.
