The 2009 attempt to replace it entirely was the only referendum on a wholly new constitution in the OECS and was rejected by roughly 55 per cent of voters.

Separation of powers
Unitary. The six parishes are administrative, and the Grenadines are represented in Parliament by two constituencies but have no separate legislature.
