Part of the Supreme Court of Brunei together with the High Court. Brunei is the only state in this batch that retains any appeal to the Privy Council in London: criminal appeals were abolished in 1998, but civil appeals remain available where the parties agree, which is unusual for an independent sultanate. The bench includes judges from other Commonwealth jurisdictions.
