iTaukei Lands Appeals Tribunal

Reviewed· 2026-08-03Suva

Hears appeals from the iTaukei Lands Commission, which records who belongs to each mataqali (landowning unit) and where its boundaries lie. Because roughly 88% of Fiji is inalienable iTaukei land held communally and leased through the iTaukei Land Trust Board, these determinations decide who receives lease income — so the tribunal's subject matter is narrow but its practical reach is very wide.
