Chamber of Representatives
Directly elected lower house of the Federal Parliament.
What this authority does
One hundred and fifty members elected by proportional representation for five-year terms. Since the 2014 reform it carries the great majority of federal legislative work alone, holds the government to confidence, and votes the federal budget. It publishes bills, committee reports and verbatim records online in Dutch and French.
