The three branches
- Head of State — President of the Republic
- Elected by the Assembly.
- Executive — Prime Minister and Council of Ministers
- Accountable to the Assembly.
- Legislative — Assembly (Kuvendi)
- Single chamber of 140 members.
- Judicial — Ordinary and specialised courts plus the Constitutional Court
- Overseen by the High Judicial Council.
How legislation is made
Laws are adopted by the Assembly and promulgated by the President, who may return a law once for reconsideration.
