The three branches
- Head of State — President of the Republic
- Elected by Parliament; largely ceremonial.
- Executive — Prime Minister and Cabinet
- Accountable to Parliament.
- Legislative — Hellenic Parliament
- Single chamber of 300 members.
- Judicial — Civil/criminal, administrative and audit courts
- No single constitutional court.
How legislation is made
Bills are passed by the Hellenic Parliament and promulgated by the President; a Special Highest Court resolves disputes over constitutionality.
