Cypriot law is a hybrid: contract and tort follow English common law, and the Courts of Justice Law preserves the application of English common law and equity where no local statute applies, while much public and family law follows continental models. A specialised Commercial Court and Admiralty Court were established in 2022 to handle high-value disputes in English.
