Constitution of the Republic of Uganda
Promulgated in 1995 after a lengthy constituent assembly process, and amended in 2005 to restore multiparty politics and remove presidential term limits, and in 2017 to remove the presidential age limit. Chapter Four guarantees fundamental rights, with non-derogable rights listed in article 44.

Separation of powers
Presidential system with a Prime Minister, a unicameral Parliament, and a judiciary in which the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal (sitting also as the Constitutional Court) and High Court form the superior courts.
