The hierarchy, top to bottom

- Restored 2023; hears direct individual petitions.
- Final appellate — Supreme Court of Kazakhstan
- Cassation instance; issues normative resolutions binding on lower courts.
- Appellate — Regional courts and courts of cities of republican significance
- Appeal instance for civil, criminal and administrative cases.

- General jurisdiction, with specialised economic, administrative and juvenile courts alongside.
- Separate jurisdiction — AIFC Court and International Arbitration Centre
